I already updated to this version and tried to upgrade firmware for my Galaxy SII.. But didnt work as stated in the below thread.

KIES was eating much ram of my PC so downloaded a copy of latest KIES from sam mobile website and uninstalled it, currently i am not using an Samsung device too.

Thanks to Samsung for desgining the junk Kies software to a faster and smart one with Kies3 which is only for android 4.3 or above. It works nicely now and with less CPU usage.
