Reports earlier this week hinted at the
imminent launch of the Samsung Galaxy Mega
2 smartphone. Well, the reports were right.
Samsung has launched the smartphone in the
Indian market at a price of Rs 20,900.

This smartphone succeeds the Samsung
Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3 and
is available for purchase from the official
Samsung online store. The device measures
163.6x84.9x8.6mm and weighs 194 grams.
The Mega 2 phablet is a 6-inch device with a
resolution of 720x 1280 pixels and comes with
a quad core 1.2Ghz Snapdragon 401 processor
along with a 1.5GB RAM. This Android 4.4
KitKat powered device comes with an 8MP
rear camera as well as a 2.1MP primary
camera. The GPU on this variant is an Adreno
306.

The Mega 2 comes with an 8GB ROM that can
be bumped up to 64GB through microSD. The
battery on the device is a 2,800mAh module.
In terms of connectivity this 3G phablet
supports WiFi b/g/n/ GLP with Glonass and
comes with Bluetooth and NFC radios.
Along
with these hardware specifications, Samsung
has also loaded some of its proprietary
software on the device including Story Album,
Ultra Power Saving Mode, S Health 3.0, S
Voice, Group Play and the S Browser.

Samsung has been quietly releasing mobile
devices recently as it did with the Chinese
launch of the Galaxy Core Max and the launch
of the Galaxy S5 Plus in the Netherlands
market.
