Right To Privacy is a fundamental right :SC

In a historic judgement, India joins other countries in upholding #RightToPrivacy

Privacy is protected under Article 21 and Part 3 of Constitution : SC
Supreme Court's nine judge bench upholds Right To Privacy as a Fundamental Right
SC says Right to Privacy is also intrinsic to the entire fundamental right chapter of the Constitution
A five judge bench of SC will test validity of Aadhaar on the touchstone of privacy as a fundamental right
Verdict comes against the stand taken by the Government calling it an 'elitist concept'
SC elevates privacy as a fundamental right under right to life & liberty. SC elevates its own stature globally too
Supreme Court has not said anything categorical on biometrics for Aadhaar, verdict could affect government's biometric ID programme

*story is developing

Good move by SC, but modi govt will find a way to bypass this order
Supreme court has already give the bypass, govt don't need to find it. fundamental right with some restriction :wink

gud move... Indians are in a habit of living freely, not bound by these stupid restrictions. :dodgy

The momentous decision, which emerged out of a batch of petitions challenging the legality of the government’s Aadhaar project, was cheered by those who believe it creates a foundation for further progressive litigation and legislation in India. But what Thursday’s decision does not do off the bat is strike down Aadhaar.
