Reliance Industries is set to retain Disney+ Hotstar as its primary streaming platform post-merger with Star India and Viacom18, consolidating JioCinema into Disney+ Hotstar due to its superior tech infrastructure. The merged entity will control a media giant with over 100 channels and two major streaming services.

D+HS selected for merged entity's sole OTT after Akash Ambani enters in Viacom18 board, ;) :D

Viacom 18 merged into Digital 18 then digital 18 acquired by Disney Star India and then Disney Star India is merged with Reliance Industries(RIL) this is what I read on scheme of merger

I wonder what will happen to the free sports streaming whether it'll continue or not

I don't think free sports available in D+HS after merger, but Jio users will get free sports from D+HS in Jio tv and Jio tv+.
When JC has free sports for everyone why wouldn't D+H have it after the merger? Reliance's stance has always been that they'll never monetize sports.
