Reliance Jio testing Live TV (IPTV) service on Jio STB

My JioFiber Live TV account validity extended today till 31 March 2025. Previously (till yesterday), it was till 31 January 2025.

Some new info added at the screen bottom. But no service even now.

Another update on the way it seems or it can be an older version.

Some users on the social media have shared a different firmware version STB-JHSD200-11.1.20 and Live TV version 1.0.66.14.

While Live TV app version is ahead but FW version is behind (older) in numbering.

I think I figured out the mystery. LiveTV app is showing an update on Jio Store. The same maybe installed on your STB.

Mine is not yet updated. I can not manually install it either because Jio has unlisted the app page on Jio Store so clicking the app icon returns nothing.

Jio will not launch this service as they will loss ads revenue they generating from jiotv+ custome ads in anywhere

But they will charge subscription for channels so they will earn more directly from their subscribers. I don't think they will be in loss but earn similar to DTH services. So profits will be even more and users will get less annoying ads.

Yes but if proper TV channel available no one can watch ott tv channel only OTT Will be preferable

I don't think they will provide live TV channels via Jiotv+ after launching LiveTV because it doesn't make any sense to provide the same thing for free & paid.

I guess Jio will provide Jio TV + services, and Jio might move the live TV only for premium plans like 888 plan or more than that.
