Buddy i have already explained why IPTV service is being by Airtel as it offers scope to widen its subscriber base as many people r looking for option wherein the Wi Fi + OTT + TV Channels combo can be accessed without need for much outdoor equipment and currently bcoz Airtel provided TV Channels via its DTH service in such plans hence bringing IPTV will help address the concern... Also IPTV operators don't have to pay any licence fee too unlike DTH operators and even i believe as it does not require leasing transponders so cost wise it is good option for the company.

Above all thru IPTV which is a 2 way service unlike DTH wherein commands can be received but not sent back (barring smart android boxes) so IPTV offers huge opportunity to provide wide array of interactive services / options to further enhance the viewing experience and above all they can also provide various internet based channels/ services which ain't possible via regular DTH boxes so even for those wanting to opt for standalone IPTV service it can be a huge plus point/ advantage while XStream Boxes will continue to serve customers looking for receiving regular chs via satellite and internet based channels will also be made available on it
 
According to my prediction and after analysing recent news on Airtel IPTV services I think Jio may also launch its Live TV (IPTV) service next month on 14th or 15th January on the auspicious Makar Sankranti day. 😅🫣

According to my assumption live tv app is merged with Jio TV Plus app in the section of digital tv.Digital tv was replaced live tv heading and title .Here all the channels now opening from the apps like sun nxt ,zee5,sony liv and disney hotstar will open directly by using iptv.They are not come under the TRAI NTO pricing policy.Both jio and Airtel care fully avoid the Trai Regulation by using the name of IPTV.Because iptv comes under Trai pay channel policy.They will directly speak to the app providers and creating opening of channels directly from their satellite feed.Finally Jio will launch the live tv app merged with Jio TV Plus before couple day or minutes before Airtel and claim the name Indias first platform

Yes I think this will be the future of jio fiber stb os.
Just like airtel xstream stb and tata play binge stb jio fiber will also introduce same looking and working user interface. Where in home screen all the tabs were available and for app list there will be another tab/section. And live tv tile will also show in main screen. They may totally discontinue the live tv app and implement that in across UI. And for direct access of live tv there is remote button shortcut already present. Or they may transfer jio tv+ UI to the main home screen.

# one feature i want from jio in future stb updates is that introduction of picture in picture where live tv or any ott app can pip video playback across the os when user try to browse other thing.

Whole home screen with Jio tv+, Jio cinema and Jio hotstar, no Netflix, Prime Video, Sony Liv etc. :ROFLMAO:

This is a limitation of Android TV. Don’t think this will ever happen
