I just talked to jio engineer and he totally denied any jio iptv testing in progress. When i said that i can provide you the YouTube links then he told me that only jio employees are getting iptv box as of now and it will take couple of months for consumer roll out.

I heard from multiple people that Jio changed so many times their plans regarding their STB.
And it's a wast of time working for them as a manufacturer.

In 2016 already they were testing Android TV (certified, with Technicolor) and the project has been abandoned.
Now it seems it's Android AOSP and either Arcadyan or Skyworth will be the OEM.

Telecom major Reliance Jio has designed its Jio set-top-box to accept the broadcast cable TV signals from the company’s Local Cable Operator (LCO) partners, RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani said on Monday at the RIL AGM.

“In recent years competition from DTH operatorshas threatened the viability of nearly 1 lakh LCOs who still operate across India. As firm supporters of local and small businesses JIO wanted to ensure that these LCOs continued to serve their communities,” Ambani said.

So Jio GigaTV won't be fully IPTV service. Rather support Digital Cable TV signals provided by LCOs.

Few days back I shared a link saying that Jio has stopped it's STB.

They just have changed the plan due to TRAI rules. So tying up with local LCO would benefit them

It's a full fledged cable TV service and not IPTV. The word Giga TV is been removed.

Now one may need to pay Rs 153 for FTA channels

No, that's not what the website says.
This specific project with this specific manufacturer has been cancelled, not the newest one.
