Reliance Digital is gradually increasing its portfolio of LYF-branded smartphones. After launching the Wind 2 and Wind 3 earlier this month, the company has now launched the Wind 7 smartphone too. Priced at Rs 6,999, the smartphone will be offered in white, black and blue color options. Similar to other LYF-branded smartphones, the Wind 7 also features 4G LTE connectivity with support for VoLTE HD voice calling. You can purchase the smartphone from Reliance Digital, Digital Xpress mini and local retail stores.
LYF Wind 7 specifications
The smartphone features a 5-inch IPS LCD HD (720p) display with pixel density of 294ppi and covered with AGC glass protection. At the heart of Wind 7 runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 210 (MSM8909) quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 304 GPU. With 16GB of onboard storage, the smartphone also comes with a microSD card slot with support for up to 128GB.
In the photography department, you get an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel selfie camera. Armed with a 2,550mAh battery, the company claims to offer up to nine hours of talktime on 4G network. In terms of connectivity, you get Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, dual SIM card slots (micro) with 4G LTE and VoLTE connectivity. The smartphone also supports USB OTG (on-the-go) support. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box.
At this price point, the LYF Wind 7 will face fierce competition from the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Coolpad Mega 2.5D , among others, most of which offer much better features as well as VoLTE connectivity. The Wind 7 has a low performance processor and the only benefit we can see in it is the Jio Preview Offer that provides free unlimited data, voice, SMS and value added content services for three months.
