Your Rs 100 note to get a shine as RBI plans varnish coating for longer lifespan
The Rs 100 note may soon get a shine, literally. The Reserve Bank of India is planning to introduce Rs 100 notes with a coat of varnish on a trial basis. The central bank is doing so in order to increase lifespan of these notes and if the experiment succeeds, then the RBI will slowly replace all Rs 100 notes with the new varnished-coated notes.
