Xiaomi Friday said that it has spun off its POCO sub-brand as an independent entity and that it will now run as a standalone brand independent of the company.POCO as a result of the company's restructuring now will operate as a separate smartphone brand with its own team and go to market strategy, said the handset maker.

Xiaomi is basking in success! Manu Kumar Jain has steered it quite well. Lots of hardwork would be there. They literally "replaced" Samsung which was the most common brand for people who couldnt afford Apple and didnt want to be identified by Micromax / Karbonn. Also, HTC, Nokia completely got wiped off from the top positions. Does HTC even exist now?

Yes, they still operate in India but with a handful of smartphones.

The market is now completely dominated by two players (besides Samsung): Xiaomi and BBK (Oppo/Vivo/OnePlus). To some extent, Huawei is also there. Lenovo/Motorola is completely out, Gionee shut down (IIRC) and LG is struggling too.

Sony has left indian smartphone market too. It's sad that our market is flooded with Chinese smartphone brands.

For years, I was very adamant that I should never give my money in any form to CPC but now I have decided to go for Realme throwing away my ideals. 😂
