Convert your photos into ASCII characters using simple freeware.
We bet you have a collection of captured family moments, old photos, wallpapers and miscellaneous images on your hard drive. Why not create some fun photos by using this collection and converting it into some incredible artwork?
Make a photo mosaic of your most memorable moments with your family or friends using free software called ‘AndreaMosaic’. It is a simple to use software which can create a mosaic from multiple photos that you select. For example, you can choose to create your artwork by using multiple photos from college and print a large A3 sized or life-size posters up to 2 meters. Install AndreaMosaic from the CHIP DVD, run the application and create a photo mosaic in just four steps.
Step 1: Choose the original photo (The main image) that you would like the final poster to look like.
Step 2: Select the tiles (the multiple photos that would make up the final image). All the photos should be located in one single folder. You may select multiple folders.
Step 3: Select the size of the poster, the resolution, the amount of tiles to be used, and other features located on the left panel.
Step 4: Click on ‘Create Mosaic’ and your photo mosaic will be created in a few moments depending upon the amount of tiles and the size of the tiles chosen. The final image will be located in the same folder as the original image.
Many email users create their signatures using ASCII characters, but how about creating a photograph using multiple ASCII characters?. Included on the CHIP DVD is one such free utility called ‘Ascgen dotNET’, which can automatically arrange the characters according to the image. You can create ASCII photos in just four clicks. Click on ‘File | Load image’ and select the image. Once you click on ‘Open’ the ASCII image is ready in the window. Click on ‘file | Print’ or ‘Print color’ if you need prints or just save the image for later use. ‘CoolAscii’ can create colored images using ASCII characters, but it isn’t free. It creates HTML images using ASCII characters and the result is much better than ‘Ascgen dotNet’.
There are hundreds of ways to create amazing artwork from simple photos. So go ahead, let loose your imagination.
