Looks like that for now. Though Vi now has enough spectrum availability in Band 41 to increase its holding to 40 MHz pan India similar to Jio and Airtel's holdings in Band 40.
Waiting just for that. 40Mhz goodness will give 300Mbps alone. After moving to SA in three years on n41-n78 will give close to 500Mbps under loads. Keep 1-3-8 for 4G and bolster band 1/3 in next auction to 15-20Mhz if possible from 5-10Mhz. Force Jio to buy extra 30Mhz in n78 PAN India. Once Jio makes band 3 20Mhz PAN India(I don't know whether it's possible or not), it's game over for Vi as well as Airtel. It has made huge difference in Pune. Nobody wants to use Vi+Airtel in Pune despite as fast as Jio. I don't know what they did in Pune but band 3 20Mhz is making huge difference. Jio 4G is superfast at 200Mbps.

Jio is the network of choice for Smartphone users who are early tech adopters. A major chunk of them have upgraded their handsets to 5G to make use of unlimited data.
Since Jio 5G is standalone (SA) and doesn't depend on the underlying 4G like in the case of Airtel and Vi, the Jio 4G network is relatively decongested thus giving higher speeds than competitors.

Not able to latch on band 41 as of yet.Speeds are touching 50Mbps in Hisar on same band. Band 1 LTE is shut down totally for this deployment for some reason. Speeds on 5G of N78 in Kanpur and Varanasi are above 500Mbps. SA 5G from Ericsson for BSNL.
Tbh all this bs atmanirbhar circus only pushed BSNL back by atleast a decade just to achieve a national 4g core network, bunch of lethargic id*ots. I believed TCS and CDOT could speed up but they too delayed so much so that ultimately GoI had to look towards foreign vendors to save its tail

Test spectrum isn't open for retail users to latch onto during testing phase, it will become available to end users only after official allotment and commercial deployment.

Vi KA, TN Circle - Band 40, Band 41 ❌🥲

Jio has been providing their services in Band 3 20MHz since a while in my city. It is still pretty slow (2-12 Mbps, highly inconsistent), whether it is B3 20MHz alone or CA B40+B40+B3+B5, compared to Airtel 4G (10-30 Mbps) alone at Band 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz.

Jio 5G is fine though, I get 300 Mbps on average in my home and more outside.

Do note, I am from a small city in Chhattisgarh - so that might be the reason, since many people are still using 4G.

Nope. Jio 4G is not decongested. It's congested as well. But wherever Jio(or even Airtel) has 20Mhz of band 3 has made 4G great again. 5G adoption in India is quiet low. Airtel 5G is on and off in my experience. Jio 5G is standing at 200Mbps and Jio 4G on band 3+40C is at 200Mbps. Airtel 5G at same place is at 400-450Mbps, despite NSA technology as you said, and Airtel 4G is also quiet fast, as most of the users are on Vi. I mean equilibrium is maintained in Pune.

3-5-40C CA doesn't exist.

As I said in other post, people are still using 4G and it's still quiet good. 5G has less adoption in India and hence Jio has stopped 5G expansion.

20 MHz of Band 41 (2500 MHz) has been assigned to BSNL in the 8 circles of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamilnadu for testing purposes with validity up to 6th August 2025. The same has been updated in the spectrum holding chart.
Its waste of spectrum in my opinion, BSNL don't have powerful hardwares like ericsson or nokia to utilise the B41 efficiently and the deployment will be snail paced with limited sites.

So, apps like NetMonster show wrong information? 🤔 I can see the speed difference when this is different though.
