Stats highlights from the second Test in Hamilton:

31 Years since New Zealand beat Pakistan in a Test series, the last such win came at home in 1985 by a margin of 2-0. In the 12 subsequent series before this one, Pakistan ended winning seven while the remaining five ended in stalemates.

1 This is first ever instance of Pakistan losing three consecutive Tests against the hosts. New Zealand won by an innings and 80 runs in the last Test of the previous series between the sides in Sharjah and by eight wickets last week in Christchurch.

8 series since Pakistan lost one. Their last series loss came in Sri Lanka in 2014 when they lost by a margin of 2-0. In the interim, they had won five and drew two.

138 runs is the biggest margin of win for New Zealand against Pakistan in terms of runs. This was the 10th win for them against Pakistan in 57 Tests.

3 Instances of Pakistan losing ten wickets after a 100-plus first wicket stand including today - 131 without loss to 230 all out. They collapsed from 135 for no loss to 208 all out (73/10) against New Zealand in Christchurch in 1995 and from 122 for no loss to 216 all out (94/10) against England in Dhaka in 1962 .

99 runs for which Pakistan lost their ten wickets is the fourth lowest for a team in the fourth innings after being 100 or more without loss.

131-run opening stand between Azhar Ali and Sami Aslam is the first century opening stand for Pakistan outside Asia. It is also the highest for them outside Asia since 219 by Imran Nazir and Mohammad Wasim in Bridgetown in 2000.

854 partnership runs put together by Azhar Ali and Sami Aslam is the most for a pair in 2016. They went past the 829 runs by English pair of Johnny Bairstow and Ben Stokes.

12 Innings for Ross Taylor since his last fifty-plus score - the longest such streak for him in career. His scores read: 2 not out, 1, 0, 0, 17, 36, 4, 0, 32, 11 and 37 (last). It was his century at home against a team other than West Indies and Zimbabwe since 138 against Australia in March 2010.

16 Runs scored by Younis Khan in his last five innings - 0, 2, 1, 2 and 11 (last). It is the lowest he made in a stretch of five innings. The previous lowest was 31 runs he made during his first year in cricket (2000).

5 Pakistan players getting dismissed for a duck in their 50th Test including Asad Shafiq who got a ten-ball duck in the second innings of this match. The others are Wasim Bari (who got a pair), Waqar Younis, Danish Kaneria and Mohammad Hafeez.

6/80 in the first innings by Tim Southee is his best figures in a home Test. The only other time he took a five-fer in New Zealand was in his debut Test against England, more than eight years ago .

49 Jeet Raval became the first New Zealand opener in 49 years to score fifty in each of his first two Tests. The others to do it were Bert Sutcliffe (1947-49) and Bruce Murray (1968).
