Don't feel bad, SC did not say no need to link Aadhaar, it only said you can do after 31st march, so take it as dead line extension and it's not new in India, missed deadline is quite common you just need to look at different projects around you

Poor people need it compulsorily otherwise Govt will not transfer financial benefit to them so they don't have the luxury of neglecting Aadhaar like you did

If Aadhar is so important to government then first they should link Aadhar with tax payment.No Aadhar linking and you don't need to any tax.
If government can deny me facilities for Aadhar issues they should also not tax from us.
