Because we need transition immediately. Rohit, Kohli, Jadeja and Ashwin needs to go. Rahul as well. But I will give him consistent position at six if not Nitish Reddy. Can't see India getting beaten. Especially because of Rahul. Yes, it's game. But it's sad to be on losing side without fighting. These people looks like have given up. Just earn the money and get test place on the basis of IPL. Except Pant, Gill and Bumrah, nobody deserves to be played this series. Maybe Akashdeep and Sunder. But nobody else. Gaikwad was your back up opener in last Windies tour. He is out contention now even after scoring one fifty and one hundred. Easwaran is picked, even Gaikwad played red ball cricket and asked to stay ready for BGT. Ishan Kishan after that Asia Cup innings before Rahul arrived, didn't get chance in whole WC and didn't get chance in South Africa T20 internationals as well. He did well against Australia. I don't know why such things are happening. Same with Gaikwad.

After 2020, almost everyone had same average in tests. Pujara, Rahane and Kohli. Who have gone out of the team? Only Pujara and Rahane. Mayank did well in South Africa 2021 series I guess. If you understand the spin bowling, Ashwin and Jadeja doesn't look threatening the batsman at all. It's Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav who have made them seen like hero. We need to let them retire after BGT. See two sixes by ordinary T20 batsman to Ashwin. He is finished business. If you want to be in top 4 next cycle,then these five needs to go asap. Maybe Rahul will stay, I don't know. But let these four go and then focus on building new team after England series.
