Rent is only fixed for certain period. For ex: Google Pay Rent Movies will be available to stream for 30 days, whereas Buy is lifetime access.

Rent is a service where you purchase the movie for some amount of time lets say 1-2 days, and buy refers to purchase the movie digitally and can watch n number of times whenever you want.

I haven't rented any movie in last 4 years. Last I rented was Home Alone 2. Back in 2017 Christmas. I recall google having some hour restrictions.
