I am using Amazon Prime on my LG 4K TV it's just ruining my data, for 60 seconds of playback it's consumes around 230MB of data I have only 100gb data plan per month I couldn't even watch 3 movies and data gets over.

Yes it could happen on 4K TV.
On Android maximum quality only uses 460MB/ hour.
On PC minimum quality it's 3.5 Mbits/sec for HD. (1.5 GB/hour)
On iOS maximum quality consumes (5.8 GB/Hour)
On 4K Smart TV its very high: 15/ Mbit/sec (7GB/hour).
So best to switch to unlimited plan or reduce quality.

Even some shows and Hollywood movies consumes double of it.

It depends on connection speed bro same problem was there for me on my Airtel Android box and I enquired from various users from our forum and I got an answer from one broadband user same 27 GB for a movie & got awestruck and another one said it will be only around 6 GB for a whole movie using some network WIFI might be a Jiofi device

But finally I found a cheaper data usage solution than all this I bought a Jio Sim & inserted it in my old Lumia 550 4G phone data speed is hardly 4 MBPS most of the time and with my 4 GB/day plan daily in Amazon prime I can stream one 2:30 hours movie plus some amount of data remaining.

So try some wireless devices from Airtel/Idea/Jio data usage will be reduced to a greater extent.

bro i can consume upto 7GB/ hour in Laptop too..
