So if no one gets profit then device makers are doing charity and supporting digital India here by giving away devices under10K as majority poor Indian people cannot afford more than 10K devices. [emoji1]

Bro may be profit by selling a single phone under 10k is not as high as the profit from a flagship phone but it sells thousands times more than the flagship phone so they are profitable too [emoji6]

In 2010 highest selling device was Nokia 5230/5233, in India its success continue to 2011 also. But for this particular device Nokia gets nailed to its coffin as Nokia failed to sell its flagship & WP devices in North America. From 5230/5233 Nokia got only 1.7% margin which is not sustainable for a big company like Nokia. If govt don't loose the security verification for China we will not able to get any utter cheap device ,so judging only Chinese devices we can't get the whole picture of device business.

When nobody is buying your phone what should u do ? See even big companies like Samsung, Sony, Motorola are giving better hardware at the price of Lumia 650. Microsoft doesnt need good margins from phones to survive, its a software company at heart it needs windows mobile OS to succeed just like windows pc OS. You should penetrate the market first and for that you need good devices at cheaper price which sells in millions of units. Dont compete with others now compete with yourself first.

Under Satya Nadella's leadership planning already changed, Microsoft don't need high adoption of W10M as they are providing services to rival platforms . What Microsoft want from its device business is its profitability - just like its Surface lineups. Next year surface phone will be launched & if all is well it will replace Lumia lineups.
