Microsoft announced the launch of Lumia 650 in India at a price of Rs 15,299. The device will be available in matte black and matte white colors.
In terms of specifications, the smartphone sports a 5-inch OLED display with a 1280 x 720 resolution and also uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor and paired with 1GB RAM. Running Windows 10, the smartphone includes an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 200GB via a microSD card.

It comes equipped with an 8MP rear camera along with a 5MP front facing camera. The dual SIM smartphone supports 4G LTE in India. A 2000mAh battery completes the package. The company says that the battery will have a standby time of up to 26 days and a talk time of up to 16 hours. The Lumia 650 also comes with features such as OneDrive storage and Microsoft’s voice-assistant, Cortana.

“We crafted the Lumia 650 with the finest detail while delivering a consistent and familiar Windows 10 experience. Lumia 650 brings the best of Microsoft productivity, beautiful design and an affordable price. The device is perfect for enterprises and Windows fans alike,” said Ajey Mehta, Country General Manager, Microsoft India.

We’d just like to add the the Lumia 650 doesn’t support Windows 10’s continuum feature.

After so many months,we finally get a Lumia that isn't just another plastic Lumia. It's always nice to see some difference & something unique for which we buy Lumia and i really hope Microsoft will continue to focus on the design of its upcoming products - because that's really what most people care about.

They are giving a device having just 8mp camera and Snapdragon 212 processor, even Samsung gives much better specs than this, even IPhone gives less specs and much higher price but they have established themselves in the market and Microsoft is till nowhere to them or Android
This will be a big flop just like their flagship 950xl because neither Windows is that much famous OS nor they are providing decent specs :s :s

From this year Microsoft is making devices for their fans only. Yes, Lumia is not popular like iPhone but still it has a fan base which is enough for smaller portfolio as Microsoft is not looking for mass adoption of their mobile OS.

The point is that Microsoft is not a small brand that they can be just satisfied on selling low amount of smartphones, they are big brand and they should work on improving their services
And soon if they do not provide proper specs devices than that fan base will not remain intact as people also like to move forward to a place where they can find more comfort,if I even stop considering the specs relating to different OS requirements but still atleast camera should have been more,8 MP is just too less for a 16K phone

Microsoft is in a very bad position when it comes to Windows phone business. 5 years since they started revamping windows mobile platform still they hve not been able to convince app developers to build apps for them and give timely updates. Plus they are selling their phones with mediocre hardware at premium prices. Remember without those popular apps the OS is nothing so they are getting beaten both on software and hardware ends. The final nail in the coffin is premium pricing. Their business strategy should now be market penetration strategy by selling top notch hardware phones at cheap prices only then they can convince buyers and app developers.

They should concentrate on mid range around10K range devices which will give them market share which will attract developers to build apps for Windows platform.

Brother, from 10k range device no one gets profit & only the success of Windows 10 can bring developers to the platform.

So if no one gets profit then device makers are doing charity and supporting digital India here by giving away devices under10K as majority poor Indian people cannot afford more than 10K devices. [emoji1]

Bro may be profit by selling a single phone under 10k is not as high as the profit from a flagship phone but it sells thousands times more than the flagship phone so they are profitable too [emoji6]
