Hi, I'm new to this forum but I want to keep it short and to the point.
I have 2 Jio Phone Numbers, respectively 1 for my mother and another for my father who have passed away and for a long time I could not gather the courage to consider accessing their phone numbers to proceed with the deactivation of bank accounts and anything else that was actively used by them, (as well as allow anyone for a span of time to contact their numbers as in reaching out) so in the end I can safely deactivate their numbers. Today I try dialing their numbers after inserting their SIMs in my phone and one says that it's an 'invalid' number and another says that it does not 'exist'. Is there anything I can do to get these numbers to be activated?

The numbers are deactivated. You have to visit the store and hope that they are not alloted to someone else otherwise the numbers are gone. If they aren't, you can request for a new connection on the same numbers (Vi and Airtel do force you to take a postpaid for this and I'm not sure about Jio).
If your number was ported to Jio and some other operator is the owner of the number then the number goes into owner operator's pool and you will have to visit their center to get more information .
