Hi to all. My first question after become a member here. Basically I don't like to write paragraphs and makes readers boring. So straight to the questions and will definitely give replies if any additional information is needed.

Questions

1.If i take the annual premium subscription on the JioFiber's registered mobile number in either hotstar app or hotstar's official website, will it automatically reflect on the JioFiber set top box's hotstar account as well?

2.If the answer is no, then what will be the process of activating the premium subscription on the JioFiber set top box's hotstar account?

I have already answered a similar question here: https://onlytech.com/community/thre...ar-plan-by-paying-the-remaining-amount.55715/

You can check my replies at Post no. #3 & #7 on that thread.

To summarise briefly, Hotstar do not provide monthly super pack on their platform as of now. The Monthly Super plans are exclusively provided to partner apps. Since you are on a pack which is natively not available on the platform, Hotstar considers you as a new customer rather than an existing customer, hence upgrade is not possible.

However if you buy premium subscription directly from Hotstar using the same mobile number then that plan should take precedence in whatever device you login to the Hotstar app. If you have 2 active plans the higher tier plan will take precedence. This can be verified with the following screenshots.

Yes. As madhan bro mentioned, same mobile number can be used to purchase a premium plan, and it will show both the plans on the account. I currently did this on my account where I get the monthly super plan bundled with ACT and separately purchased the premium plan on the same account. Screenshot below.

It's the same Jio plan that we get with the 150 Mbps plan.

Thank you for all the responses. So in simple words, if I take annual premium subscription by paying full price on the same Jio STB's mobile number, the higher plan (Premium) will be selected by default on the Jio STB's hotstar app right?

Little off topic, but this reason should be given here to understand the situation. My 4k android tv runs 4k,2k,FHD in 60fps without any issue on youtube. But in sonyliv app, sonyliv's stream from Airtel xstream app and Amazon Prime video live streaming of sports (which all are 1080p 50fps) are having stuttering issue. So I need to watch them on Jio STB instead of my tv. Since now hotstar is under Jio umbrella, and planning to stream ipl from this year, there's high chances that maybe (or may not be) hotstar can provide 4k 60fps streaming in the near future (hope you know that last time jiocinema tested 4k 60fps for ipl especially on Jio STB for a while). Since my premium subscription ends on my another mobile number in exactly 2 days, I don't want to renew it because I have to stream stuttering sports if 60fps will be introduced in hotstar. Instead, if I take premium subscription on my Jio STB's mobile number, then there will be no stuttering issue since I will use Jio STB during live streaming like how I using it for sonyliv.

Yes. That's how it works on the other fiber networks. I and Madhan bro haven't particularly tested this on JioFiber, however I see no reason for it to work differently there.

You can't upgrade jio hotstar plan and also can't view any pack except jio hitstar in jio stb. You have log in your tv app
