Saina lost her Semifinal match against the World No.1 China's Yihan Wang. She will have a go at the bronze when she faces the loser of second semifinal.

Indian shooter Joydeep Karmakar qualified for the finals of the men's 50m rifle prone shooting event but could finish only in 4th position. Gagan Narang, failed to qualify for the finals as he finished in 18th.

Om Prakash Singh crashed out in the shot-put event.

Gagan Ullalmath, finished seventh in the first heat of the men's 1500m freestlye swimming and hence eliminated.
