LG launches android smartphone 'Optimus Black' in India

MUMBAI: LG has launched super sleek Smartphone ‘Optimus Black’ in India.

The glossy black bezel surrounds a 4-inch multi-touch NOVA Display IPS 720p HD screen, with hidden speaker and microphone adding to the sleek and smooth aesthetic.

In addition to enhanced luminosity, the NOVA Display on the handset also radically reduces power consumption by 50 percent. The handset features 5MP auto-focus camera with LED flash and 2MP front-facing camera. Combined with the 1500 mAh battery the handset is powered by 1GHz TI OMAP3 processor, 2GB of internal storage and weighs just 109 gm.

Speaking at the launch, LGEIL business head-mobile communications Vishal Chopra said, “We are pleased to introduce our latest High end Smartphone: the “LG Optimus Black”.Designed in a way to provide consumers the latest in technology coupled with great looks and extensive features, the LG Optimus Black is in line with our strategy of introducing innovative gadgets and connecting with the world through relatable propositions.”

The handset runs on Android 2.2 Froyo and soon will be updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread in the coming month. The device is designed with enhanced graphics, Optimus UI 2.0, Gesture UI keys and also avails HD recording along with playback.

Optimus Black is priced at at Rs 20,990.
