Bro, I don't know how is HD is doing today. But, I've few HP products and they are working fine. Never had any issues.
So, I think it's safer to invest in HP.

HP is doing very good. Nice support and customer care.
If you looking for Acer or Asus, i suggest not to go with them for saving few bucks currently because later it will cost you more than the price of competitor laptop.

I am having HP and it works great and I am planning to upgrade my RAM to 16 GB soon.

Before buying please make sure to purchase the laptop which supports upgradation of RAM or HDD. Now a days laptops are getting manufactured in such a way that the RAM is pre-soldered in mother board only which can't be extended later

Yes Bro. Recently @Abhi bro's sister started using it. Though her model is Intel i5 +512GB SSD.

@Optimus_Prime bro, it has 4GB ram soldered on board and 4GB Ram on DIMM. So, if you need to upgrade Ram, you'll have to replace 4GB DIMM ram.
