Due for commercial rollout in the coming months, Reliance Jio has already partnered five smartphone companies in India, viz. Micromax, Asus, Samsung, LG and Panosonic for free voice and data services.

I don't think it is Jio who is deciding which Brands they include rather I feel it is the brands that are sponsoring Jio to include their devices in Free Preview Offer

Why would Ambani give JPO to only some brands
This would directly improve popularity of brands,as we know everyone is trying to get Jio Sim so some people might end up with new devices from these included brands just to get Jio Sim

You may be right. But the first non LYF brands to be included with jio offer are Samsung and LG. I'm not sure if they went to jio or jio went to them since they are big brands. But after that, it could be the brands that are sponsoring jio. Also, if this is the case, Apple may not see jio light any soon!

Yep brands have to come forward to include their devices and I think deal include selling devices at lower cost than market prices to Reliance Digital so that Reliance can make some profit while selling those to retail customers

So far, all the brands added to Jio Preview Offer are offline brands. (YU Phones from Micromzx have recently added offline sales as well). SO Reliance Digital is definitely getting some benefit out of this (More margin perhaps?)
