Jio want to first grab customer first as they are offering nothing in front of Disney+ and others like Sony LIV - ZEE 5.

Cricket craze bro. They want to defend Disney+Star and Sony+Zee with IPL and BCCI cricket as Hotstar in top spot only with cricket craze.

In feature Jio cinema will only for sports and vootselect for friction and non fiction and reality shows ?

If they are thinking it is very difficult to monetize that sports app say 'jio cinema'
Firstly In India pricing is not feasible... Most of the apps provide yearly so, they don't lose customers frequently...
If, jio cinema is only a sports they can't sell yearly plan easily for this app... Because they don't have all major rights... Which can cover throughout the year.. And It is not easy to sell monthly or even quarterly expensive plans... Sports rights are expensive cheap pricing won't work...

Bro on what basis yoh are saying that? Not just cricket bro Hotstar has Disney Plus library and what not to offer. Star Plus and Star Plus TV show are cherry on cake, they are getting them for free fund.

Jio cinema might rename to Jio+ and Voot Select will merge to Jio+ or Jio something with subscription includes paramount+ just before IPL 2023.

I would rather expect them to move all the ad-supported free to view content to Jio cinema including sports and the entire Colors TV content and keep Voot as subscription only platform for the Voot select and Alt Balaji originals along with Showtime content and entire Paramount+ Library. That would be named as Paramount+ Voot.

Doesn't take much to add higher resolution streaming support in an existing app, it can be done at the server end without needing to launch a new app altogether.
