Before yesterday's match Dhoni had a overall strike rate of 170+. But after yesterday's match his strike rate is in 165.

Sunny said, post his retirement from test matches Dhoni is constantly working at the gym during no match days to keep him active and fit when ever the limited over series come along. He has been working out in the gym for a long time now.

And coming back to his strike rate before IPL, Dhoni always take some time before he could launch his big hits after being appointed as captain without throwing his wicket away and started playing matured knocks and not slogging from ball 1 as he did before. But recently while playing for India Dhoni has always been batting lower down and he doesnt get enough chances to get settled and go for the precise hitting at the death overs like he is doing right now in this IPL season.
Dhoni Should play after 2 or 3 down in upcoming international matches which is good for Indian team as Dhoni perform very well so far in IPL

Problem is, who'll be 5,6,7 (Indian team will become RCB)? Iyer is one, who are other 2? Raina, Pandey, Kedar, Pandya?
May be Rayudu, Rahane, K L, Pant to be given a chance. But we need at least 1 genuine all-rounder. What are the options beyond Pandya? Sundar is a bowling all-rounder, so does Jadeja. Vijay Shankar not lived up to the mark. Krunal??

Rayudu, KL might find a place in the Indian team, but the question still is for which spot, Pant may be doubtful, Rahane might need to perform well in the remainder of the IPL to claim a spot, especially it was disappointing when Rahane didn't come to bat in a rain curtailed chase against DD, where he should have lead the chase from the front

I think we should surely open with KL Rahul. His explosive batting combined with his consistency now reminds me of Sehwag days. We should choose one between Dhawan and Rohit. If they go with Dhawan then Rohit can come after Kohli at No: 4 followed by Dhoni at No: 5. Considering the performance of Krunal Pandya he can be given a chance at No: 6 at the expense of Raina followed by his brother Hardik at No: 7 since he is the only pace bowling all rounder we have. Vijay Shankar has the talent but he is not upto international standards.

And now coming to the 5 bowlers, it should be Bhuvi, Bumrah, Shami/Umesh, Kuldeep and Chahal. With this team we have 6 genuine bowling options and a few part timersw like CSK and batting will be taken care of the specialist batsmen and the all rounders. This is a T20I team which is not suitable for ODI's since we are a batsmen short.

So here's my final XI for T20I's:
1. KL Rahul
2. Dhawan(Prefered for being Left Handed)
3. Kohli
4. Rohit(If early wickets fall he is the No 4)
5. Dhoni(After 12 Overs he will be the No: 4)
6. Krunal
7. Hardik
8. Bhuvi
9. Kuldeep
10. Bumrah
11. Chahal
12. Shami(I would like to slot him somewhere to have 4 pace bowling options)
13. Pant(Backup WK)
14. Shreyas(Backup Batsmen)
15. Akshar Patel(Backup Allrounder)
16. Nitish Rana(Backup for Allrounder)

Your list is good except Axar, he shouldn't be even in 30. Terming him Allrounder is just a no-no. Also, though I don't like DK's batting, but after his heroics in last tournament, he is a must in playing XI.
