4 Retentions means MI, DC, RCB going for Maximum Retentions while CSK, PK, SRH and KKR may retain 2 players... Don't expect RR to retain any players Ahead of 2022 Mega Auction.....With 20 odd players locked in, 2 New Frenchisee may have disadvantage to start with.....

There should have been 2 Retentions with 1 Overseas & 1 Indian Player & 1/2 RTM for Franchises.

Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler/Jofra Archer...
RR are already finding it tough to manage England overseas players availability, and with next IPL expected to be of 90 games, all format English players like butler, stokes and Archer will not go for high prices.... Samson is not worth the price of highest retention amount of 15Cr+.....

They had paid 12 crores (12.5 in deduction) for Steve Smith last time around. Who's to say if they won't retain him especially if they are gonna retain just him it will be easily 2-3 less in deduction.

BTW, RR bought Samson at 8 cr mark and he's the captain now and in addition he's an Indian hard hitting Wicket Keeper which is a rare commodity in the auction, so the price any way will go to 11-12 cr easily. Just look at Manish Pandey and KL Rahul's auctions last time around.
Maybe not 15cr. They might pull off an KXIP 2018 of Axar Patel signing at >6.5cr
Yes exactly. Even DC (then DD) pulled the same with retaining Morris, Shreyas and Pant all around 7-8 cr mark for all three of them with only purse being deducted as 15+11+ 7.

Everyone must have also been deceived by the Star Sports presentation after the 2018 retention deadline, but no. These are their official prices for 2018... 15, 11, 7 for Pant, Morris, Iyer... This is what they get paid as well :|

FYI.

VIVO IPL 2018 Player Retention announced

I don't think, IPL official website and official broadcaster will have the wrong the information. Even ESPNCRICINFO says so. There might have been some mistake made by cricinfo team there.

BTW, it isn't a mistake it seems @Sparker0i . They had represented how much each player had costed on IPL purse deductions. There are multiple examples for it. Look at Akshar Patel, the example you had given, it's listed as 12.5 crores same goes with S Khan on RCB list which is listed as 3 cr.

BTW. Just asking did you really believe Pant would be paid equal to likes of Ms, Kohli and Rohit?.. It would have certainly a big news then if that's true.
