Google tests 'Copyless Paste' in Chrome for Android

Google has introduced the first code for a new feature called ' Copyless Paste ' in its Chrome app running on Android OS that will take data from Chrome usage and use that to improve the experience in other apps.

Users can now enable 'Copyless Paste' in chrome://flags in Chrome Canary for Android, although turning it on might not do anything, a report in VentureBeat said.

Google Chrome 58 for Android update rolls out: Here are the 5 new features

1. Downloads

The download feature has been improved in Chrome 58 for Android. You can now view and manage in-progress downloads under the Downloads section. This sort of brings in a desktop-like experience to the mobile in which you can keep a tab on all that is being downloaded and also pause or cancel it seamlessly.

2. Browser history

The new update now features a redesigned History page where you can view and clear your browsing data easily. The redesigned page now has its own dedicated view instead of the regular page with a visible URL bar. Essentially, the layout of the section has been tweaked.

3. New tabs

With the new update, you can now long-press a link to open it in a new Chrome tab for Chrome Custom Tabs. This feature is similar to how the Safari browser works in the iOS. While there is not much of a value addition but it simply eases out navigation.

4. Full-screen web apps

In the new update, if you open a web app through the Chrome browser, it will open up in full screen. This is part of Google’s initiative called Progressive Web Apps which aims to reduce the difference between the web and native apps by tweaking the interface a bit. With the new update, the Android status and navigation bar can be hidden which allows for a more immersive experience.

5. Autofill

Under the Settings tab, ‘Autofill’ has been renamed to ‘Autofill and payments’. The addresses and saved credit cards options then split into their own dedicated pages. It is to be noted that this feature had been already there but the section has only been renamed to help make it more discoverable for users.

Microsoft Edge Browser With Windows Defender Application Guard Previewed
Microsoft is finally testing a feature that will make the Microsoft Edge browser more secure and safe. The Windows Defender Application Guard was first announced last year, but Microsoft is finally testing it in its latest Windows 10 Insider Preview for Enterprises build (16188). The new tool essentially does not let the entire PC get affected, in the event that it gets hit by a malware attack. As you may have derived, the feature for now is only mean for Windows 10 Enterprise Edition users.

Microsoft makes Edge browser more secure with Windows Defender Application Guard

Microsoft is testing a new feature to make the Edge browser more secure. The latest Windows 10 Insider Preview Build, includes the Windows Defender Application Guard for Microsoft Edge. The Application Guard was first announced last September, but it is only now that it has become available for testing. The new feature essentially encases your browser in a virtual machine, so that if your browser ever gets attacked by malware, it won’t affect the rest of your PC.

Again, the feature is currently only available to test for Insiders, and the general public will be able to test Windows Defender Application Guard in a few months time after Microsoft launches the Windows 10 Redstone 3 Update.

Google Chrome for Android gets new improved features to download and find webpages offline

Google has new introduced new features to make web browsing on smartphones much easier. After launching the ‘Downloads’ feature last year for users to save complete webpages offline and surf later, it now offers two new options to download content offline. The update has only been rolled to the Google Chrome web browsing app for Android for now.

Google, now allows saving web page offline by just a long press on any link and select ‘Download Link’. This means that users can now save articles and web pages without opening them first. The browser now also gives you the option to ‘“Download Page Later” which would allow the app to automatically save web pages offline as soon as the device regains connectivity in areas with poor data network.
