Weird Microsoft Edge bug means the browser prints different numbers than it displays
(Source 2)
In one of the weirdest — but equally dangerous — bugs of all time, it appears that Edge will display one set of numbers on the screen, but will send another set of numbers to the printer, effectively replacing content on your documents.

The bug was reported last week and was already confirmed by Microsoft. According to the user who first spotted the issue, the bug appears when Edge users are trying to print PDF documents via the browser’s built-in “Microsoft Print To PDF,” which is the default printing method when pressing CTRL+P in Edge.

Opera's Reborn Beta Browser Build for Desktops Gets Social Messenger Integration

Opera on Wednesday announced new features for the beta version of its browser for desktops, codenamed 'Reborn', which comes with integration for social messengers and allows users to engage in conversations while browsing the Internet. While switching between the tabs to use different messengers can often prove to be a cumbersome task, Opera's Reborn beta build aims to ease up the process by allowing users to "chat side-by-side as they browse."

With Opera's Reborn beta build, users get quick access to Web versions of popular messengers including Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Telegram directly from the browser's sidebar. Apart from the sidebar integration, the browser allows users to pin the messenger tab for easier multitasking and shortcuts for easy switch between the messengers.

New Microsoft Edge vulnerability allows hackers to steal your cookie and password data
Security researcher Manuel Caballero has discovered a vulnerability in the code of Microsoft's default browser for Windows 10, that can allow the theft of password and cookie data from your computer, giving unauthorized access to sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
As he explains, the issue stems from a problem with the Same Origin Policy (SOP) in Edge, which is a security measure that seeks to stop such data used on one domain from being accessed via another. However, it seems that Microsoft's implementation of the policy leaves much to be desired, with this being the third such flaw discovered in the policy.

Hackers can steal your Windows login credentials via a Google Chrome bug
Google said it was aware of the issue and 'taking necessary action'.

A vulnerability in Google’s Chrome browser allows hackers to automatically download a malicious file onto a victim’s PC that could be used to steal credentials and launch SMB relay attacks

The Google Chrome vulnerability was uncovered by DefenceCode security engineer Bosko Stankovic, who said in a blog that he found the flaw in a default configuration of Chrome running on Windows 10.

"Currently, the attacker just needs to entice the victim (using fully updated Google Chrome and Windows) to visit his web site to be able to proceed and reuse victim's authentication credentials," Stankovic said.

He added that this vulnerability poses a threat not just to privileged users such as administrators but also to regular users and organisations since it "it enables the attacker to impersonate members of the organisation". Hackers can also "immediately reuse" stolen credentials and privileges gained to launch further attacks "on other users or gain access and control of IT resources".

Recommendations :

In order to disable automatic downloads in Google Chrome, the following changes should be made: Settings -> Show advanced settings -> Check the Ask where to save each file before downloading option. Manually approving each download attempt significantly decreases the risk of NTLMv2 credential theft attacks using SCF files.

Samsung Internet, which is the company’s own mobile web browser, is finally out of beta . The app is now being made available for a range of Android devices, which includes some non-Galaxy smartphones as well. For quite a while now, the Samsung Internet browser has been in beta and was only accessible on Samsung devices running Android Lollipop and above.

Google launches the Chrome Enterprise Bundle for IT admins
Google is making it easier for IT admins to deploy and manage its Chrome browser in their businesses. The new Chrome Enterprise Bundle gives admins a single installer for the Chrome browser, the Chrome Legacy Browser Support extension for running the occasional ActiveX widget and a number of administrative policy templates.
With the launch of Chrome 58, Google’s browser now also offers official support for Citrix’s XenApp virtualization platform and Windows Server with Terminal services. Chrome 58 also offers support for GPU acceleration in Citrix environments, as well as roaming profiles and Windows Server auto-detection. The company plans to add additional tools to the bundle over time.
With this update, it’ll become easier for IT admins to deploy Chrome in their organizations. In many organizations — and especially large enterprises — Chrome still isn’t officially supported by IT. Instead, Internet Explorer (or Edge, if those organizations already updated to Windows 10) remains the standard.
