International Online websites will support RuPay Cards & UPI partnership with PPRO:

The collaboration between NIPL and PPRO will empower the payment service providers, banks, gateways, and enterprises with payment platforms that depend on PPRO to expand their platforms internationally and beyond borders, giving their merchants access to Indian consumers who perform digital transactions using RuPay Card and UPI.

The agreement aims at expanding RuPay card and UPI acceptance across PPRO’s global clients such as payment service providers (PSPs) and global merchant acquirers.

Finally. It was a long overdue. It was easier to get content using unethical methods than buying a subscription.

This is not the first agreement to support RuPay and UPI for international websites.
NPCI has signed several agreements with cross border e-payment companies in the past.
There is no guarantee that your favourite international websites will cover this agreement,
This is not the beginning or end, it's a long way journey. In future you will see many agreements sign between NPCI International and other cross border e-payment companies. :):)

They used to have something like this with Discover as well.
Discover, Diners club and JCB are RuPay co-badged International cards like recently launch BOB RuPay 'Easy' and 'Premier' credit cards are RuPay-JCB International credit cards but MOU sign between NPCI International and PPRO allowed RuPay Domestic cards for International acceptance.
Recently, RuPay issued a circular in which NPCI instruct all banks to enable all RuPay Domestic cards for International acceptance by default.
