Injured Mutumbami out of second T20I against India

Richmond Mutumbami, the Zimbabwe wicket-keeper batsman, has been ruled out of the second Twenty20 International against India on Monday (June 20) after suffering an injury during the first T20I, which his side won by two runs.

Mutumbami was hit on the right hip while batting against Jaydev Unadkat during the Zimbabwean innings and the blow forced him to retire hurt. The swelling made it difficult for the 27-year-old to stand on his feet, ensuring no further participation in the game was possible.

He was then taken to a hospital but the x-ray revealed that he had not suffered a fracture or dislocation. He is currently under treatment and in order to make a swift recovery, will need crutches to reduce the strain.

Malcolm Waller took over the wicket-keeping duties during the first T20I in Mutumbami's absence but it is likely that Peter Joseph Moor will replace the injured 27-year-old in the lineup as the gloveman. Batsman Brian Chari is also ruled out of the contest as he still continues his recovery from a knee injury
