RE: India to Tour Zimbabwe In June For Limited-Overs Matches
India to tour Zimbabwe for a short limited-overs series
Zimbabwe are set to host India for a short series of three One-Day Internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals, beginning from June 11th, Zimbabwe Cricket announced on Tuesday (May 3). All the matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club. The original tour schedule consisted of one Test and three ODIs, but the lone Test has been scrapped in favour of three T20Is.
The removal of the one-off Test comes on the same day as the release of the revised ICC Test rankings - where Zimbabwe have been scratched off from the list, for having failed to play a minimum of eight Tests during the new rating period - for it to be allotted a ranking position.
"After finalising all the formalities with the Board of Control for Cricket in India, we are pleased to announce the incoming tour scheduled for this June," Wilfred Mukondiwa, the Zimbabwe Cricket managing director, said in a statement.
The three ODIs will be played on 11th, 13th and 15th June and will be followed by the T20Is, on 18th, 20th and 22nd. India have been regular visitors to the Southern African nation and have travelled thrice since 2010, with all tours featuring limited overs matches
