MUMBAI: The Hero Indian Super
League is all set for the global
audience and expand its reach
across five continents in 18 different languages, other than the five languages that the football league will be aired in India.

The global distribution of the league paves the way for making the Hero ISL the first Indian football event to be broadcast globally at such a large scale.

Apart from a broadcast plan for Indian viewers, the league will also have a global broadcast footprint.

This, together with the reach over the internet, promises to deliver the league over the next 70 days and 61 games to sports fans around the globe.

Kolkata: High on confidence after an
ideal start to their campaign with
back-to-back victories, Atletico de
Kolkata will look to keep the
momentum going when they take on
a star-studded Delhi Dynamos FC in
their Indian Super League match on
Sunday.

Luis Garcia's men have played some
quality football since the franchise
league kicked off at this very turf,
Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan
last Sunday.

While it was Mumbai City FC who
were handed a 0-3 rout at home, in
their away fixture, Kolkata outplayed
NorthEast United FC 2-0 despite their
strong local support.

The Dynamos, on the other hand, are
yet to fire despite the presence of
Italian World Cup winner Alessandro
Del Piero.

They had settled for a goalless draw
in their opening game against FC
Pune City.

Most of the teams have so far
struggled to weave together as a
team, even though every side
consists of big names. But Kolkata
franchise, with its rich Spanish
flavour but no World Cuppers and
only lesser known players, has
surprised many with strong team
bonding, something the team think-
tank should get the credit for.

Kolkata had a one month pre-season
training at Atletico's base camp in
Madrid.

Guwahati: Having suffered defeats in
their previous matches, NorthEast
United FC and FC Goa would look to
record a vital win when they take on
each other in their Indian Super
League fixture here on Sunday.

NorthEast United FC began their
campaign in the tournament with a
1-0 win over Kerala Blasters on
October 12 but lost against table
toppers Atletico de Kolkata on
October 16.

The John-Abraham owned team put
up a brave show against Atletico de
Kolkata but were done in by the
sheer physicality and clinical finishing
of the Kolkata side. But, they would
look to bounce back with a win in
their third home game on the trot at
Indira Gandhi Stadium.

FC Goa, on the other hand, fought
tooth and nail to the finish, only to
be denied by Chennaiyin FC's
defence and their brilliant goalkeeper
in their opening match 1-2 defeat at
home on October 15.

If the Goan side win on Sunday, it
will be Brazilian legend Zico's first
success in India as manager.

Zico is expected again to depend on
creative talents of mercurial
Frenchman Robert Pires who had an
average game against Chennaiyin FC.
At 40, Pires showed flashes of
brilliance against Chennaiyin and the
ex-Arsenal man will be out again to
prove a point against NorthEast
United.

Adrian Mutu, who has a three-month
deal with FC Pune City to play in the
Indian Super League, has dismissed
reports that he was denied a visa at
the Indian embassy in Bucharest that
claimed he turned up to apply visibly
drunk - sources told IBNLive Sports.
However, confusion still reigns over
his participation.

The controversial striker, who was
axed by the Blues in 2004 for testing
positive for cocaine, needed an
Indian visa in order to join his new
club at Pune who have so far drawn
one and lost one match in the ISL.

They were thrashed 5-0 by Mumbai
FC in their last match on Saturday
Mutu, though, has had a
controversial career in professional
football.

He received a nine-month ban - later
reduced to six months - during his
time with the Serie A club Fiorentina
for failing a doping test. In August
2011, Mutu and his Romanian team-
mate Gabriel Tamas were banned
from the national team after they
were found drinking in a bar while
their team-mates played against San
Marino.

He was reinstated to the national
team three matches later but was
banned once again in 2013 after
posting a picture of manager Victor
Piturca as Mr Bean.

Kolkata: Czech midfielder Pavel Elias
struck a stunner to help Delhi
Dynamos halt Atletico de Kolkata's
two-match winning run as both the
teams settled for a point each after
an intense 1-1 draw in their Indian
Super League fixture on Sunday.

Barcelona's youth system product,
Jofre Mateu, gave the home franchise
a 49th-minute lead, but Dynamos
brilliantly bounced back through Elias
in the 73rd minute to give the visiting
side its first point.

The scoreline may suggest otherwise
but the match was full of intensity
and Italian World Cup winner
Alessandro Del Piero, who started in
the XI, narrowly avoided a red card
after an intense scuffle with ATK
players.

There was a clash between the
players when Del Piero brought down
Denzil Franco with his left-foot tap in
an outrageous challenge.
The players surrounded the iconic
Juventus star and pushed him before
the goalie intervened.

The home side had its share of run-
ins as well, resulting in its back-to-
back red cards as it was once again
reduced to 10 players when Rakesh
Masih picked a second yellow in the
88th minute.
