Yo-yo test before Test match for Team India

THE BOARD of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked all the players picked in the Test squad to face Afghanistan to report on June 8 to Bengaluru, where they will have to undergo mandatory yo-yo tests. The historic game against the latest entrants into the Test fold will be played in the same city from June 14. It will also kick off a lengthy run on the road for the Indian team that includes a two-and-a-half month tour of the British Isle, which kicks off with a couple of T20Is in Ireland later that month.

Dinesh Karthik is likely to get a shot at Test redemption -- as a replacement for the injured wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha -- for the one-off historic encounter against Afghanistan in Bengaluru from June 14.

According to sources close to the selection committee, MSK Prasad and Co are looking at the England tour, where Karthik could make the cut in the longest format also.

Injured Wriddhiman out of Afghanistan Test, Karthik named replacement
India's regular Test wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha has been ruled out of the upcoming one-off Test against Afghanistan in Bengaluru, the BCCI confirmed on Saturday (June 2). Dinesh Karthik has been named as the replacement for the Test beginning on June 14.

The Bengal-born 'keeper, while batting in Qualifier 2 of the recently concluded Indian Premier League, suffered a blow on his right thumb from a Shivam Mavi delivery. Saha has been in consultation with BCCI's medical team and has been duly advised adequate rest ahead of the crucial England Test series.

Saha's recovery period is expected to be around five to six weeks.

Any MOD or thread starter @abhi1276 bro, please change the thread title to 'India vs Afghanistan'. India is the host nation here, unlike the series between AFG & BAN where Host is AFG but matches are playing in India.
