India 50/0
England 287
Day 2: 1st Session - India trail by 237 runs

Since 2000, this is only the 3rd time Indian openers are not separated after the first ten overs in their first innings of a tour played in SENA (SA, Eng, NZ, Aus) countries.
Other instances:

18.2: Mukund & Gambhir, Lords, 2011
19.2: Sehwag & Chopra, Brisbane, 2003

Finally I get to watch some LIVE action of the start of an important season of India's Overseas Tour starting with England. Seems like Ashwin has learned his lessons from the past tours and its always so good to see him amongst wickets. But what disappointed me was Pujara being dropped and Rahul replacing him. We could very well had Rahul as a backup opener and Pujara at No 3 atleast for the couple of matches.

Now as I type this post, all three openers including Dhawan has gone and failed to give India a solid start with no Pujara to play the solid knock to frustrate the bowers. Rahul Dravid was a master of that in England. Too many stroke makers in a Test match is not a good strategy specially in overseas conditions. Now its upto Kohli to show the world and for his own sake that he can turn things around just like Ashwin did in the very first innings of the tour.
