Kohli defends Dhoni after boos at Lord's Kohli defends Dhoni after boos at Lord's

This (Kohli's statement) can also be posted in 'Jokes of the day' thread.
MS Dhoni walked a single to third man to reach 10,000 ODI runs, but there was barely a clap heard at Lord's. Even the Indian dressing room was glum.

Not long after that, Dhoni was booed as India's run rate came to a virtual standstill in the final 10 overs, after the chase of 323 fell apart. Boos and slow-hand claps rang across the ground because Dhoni was reluctant to play aggressively.

@Pranab cricket nowadays is a collective team effort .we as a nation have habit of finding scapegoats to vent our anger .the whole team played badly yesterday .it was not just dhoni . The bowling should have had restricted England to 250 .

Yes, it's hole team bad performance, it's not good to blame only MSD. They should be improve bowling, i think they thinking they win 1st odi easily, it also win same, but they should be think every match or opposition is strong they can bounce back..By the way win - lost is part of game, hope they improve their performance nd win next desider game :ok:

Yes cricket is collective effect.when raina was playing dhoni had many dot balls and same continued with pandya.dhoni increased the asking run rate to 11.becauae of this dot balls raina and pandya played big shots and got out.if both batsmen not playing big shots and wasting balls means how the team will win

Cricket was always a team game.
It's not about finding scapegoats. In the match, except few here and there, there was no solid performance from any of the 11. If performance scale is concern, Rahul was the least performer.
But it was the intention, that matters. Out of the 7 batsmen, except MS every one went for the win.
If you can't see that, I can't help.
Kohli's remarks to not lose heavily is vague. This is not a game, where runrate matters. If you lose by 1 or 250 margin, doesn't matter.

Everyone was playing slowly, if your statement is true, when sachin got 100th century he took so many balls extra and India lost to Bangladesh on that match, can I say sachin played slowly because he wants to reach his milestone?
4th Match (D/N), Asia Cup at Dhaka, Mar 16 2012 | Match Summary | ESPNCricinfo
There's hundreds of instances when players played slowly. That happens to players specially when they're at the fag end of their career. You simply can't bring in random statistics to defend someone you support. Just accept the fact, MS playing slow lately. He was definitely a match-winner from tricky situations, but now he is not so dependable anymore.
