Lyon broke India's back in the 1st innings with Rahane's wicket in the very 1st over of the 3rd day. This wicket potentially changed the course of the match, instead of getting a lead, India couldn't even reach Australia's total. And now in the second innings, he broke India's back again by getting Virat's wicket which kind of defined the outcome of the match. He even got Vijay, who looked solid in this innings. We got to accept, Lyon has been exceptional. At the same time, even if India had a spinner, I'm not sure if he could have created the same impact as Lyon!

Talking about Pant, in the 19 deliveries he played today, 5 were mishits. He looked like he would get out any ball, and this was with a reasonably old ball. Imagine what happens if he was facing a brand new ball!

What these openers doing in indian team.not even getting 50 without a wicket.if they got around 80 plus runs we would have got 200 plus target only.vijay almost single digit in 14 innings and rahul completely missing stump.every time this openers fall cheaply and putting pressure on pujara kohli and middle order batsmen.bowlers too getting pressure. partiv and prithivi should open the innings.pant keeping worst, no patience.he should get removed.jadeja or kuldeep should get a chance.vijay and rahul should not get a place in test matches in future.

In my opinion unfortunately our batsman struggled against spinner even though they are not traditional spinner like lyon or moeen ali i tell that they are not traditional spinner because they don't know how to bowl doosra because they bought up pace friendly wicket but they quitly bowl good against our top order or our good spin playing batsmen now our batsmen know how to play pace bowler but forgot to tackle spin and thats backfired this match and last england tour also

Your point is correct. This team struggling against ordinary spin. Once we played well against Shane Warne and Muralitharan. Only fast bowling improved.
