I would be surprised if they make more than 1 change in the decider!

DK is more a T20 kind of player, though he is playing in ODIs too. So, he should come in when there are less number of overs, like in T20. He has this great ability to score quick runs straight away in that situation. We have seen what happened in the last match, he came in much earlier and got out cheaply! And I have seen this happen several times, he doesn't know how to play (Attack or Defend) when there are so many overs left. When there are less overs, there is only one way to play, Attack, and he is good at that! Today's situation was tailor made for him and he had shown his class. Check his match winning innings, and they came in similar situations (Nidahas Trophy Final is what I remember, I think there are more in IPL). The current position in the batting order is ideal for DK IMO.
So When will DK learn how to build innings if he is send at No 4 position , He can perform way better than Rayudu, Rahane, Rahul at No.4 Spot, This 25-35 won't cement his place in Playing X1 even for World Cup 2019, only if he scores 50+ frequently he will be permanent member in India's ODIs playing X1

100% agree with you. Commentators also saying the same things throughout his innings.
For me, this should be the line-up till Pandya & Bumrah return.
Dhawan
Rohit
Virat
MS
Kedar
DK
Shankar
Jadeja
Bhuvi
Kul/Cha
Shami
After Pandya & Bumrah joining, they should take position of Shankar & Shami. Also depending on ground, Shami/Kul/Cha to be placed.
So, you are dropping poor Rayudu! But the lineup looks real good with excellent top order and lot of fire power down the order. But Kedar's fitness is a concern and also Shankar at 7 is a concern, I still remember his batting in Nidahas, I really doubt if he suits number 7!! We don't have many options though

His role is finishing games for India at number 6 (One Dhoni used to do), and he is perfectly suitable for that. I think the team is not expecting him to bat at number 4.

Want 3 changes for MCG
  1. Rayudu Out- Kedhar Jadhav In and DK at No.4
  2. Kuldeep Out - Chahal In Leg Spinner always trouble Aussies be it Adil Rashid or Tahir
  3. Siraj Out- Khaleel / Vijay Shankar in
If Vijay Shanker comes in, then Kedar also should come in, as VS cannot be counted to send down 10 overs.
Today Virat had no 6th option to get 1-2 overs of Siraj.

Yes, somehow I don't like his batting.
But Kedar's fitness is a concern
Yes, no doubt!
Shankar at 7 is a concern, I still remember his batting in Nidahas, I really doubt if he suits number 7!!
I remember that, but he managed to sneak a boundary at crucial juncture.
We don't have many options though
We really don't have. He'll give away maximum the same amount of runs, if not less. For me, he's a Stoinis type of bowler.

Agree with you, We've no complaints till he plays such match winning cameos.
What I get MSK Prasad's view on Pant, he might be used as a back-up of DK.
