: "Rain becoming increasingly heavier at the Derby Ground." Never the ideal start to a day, but nothing quite to be worried about, for the chances of rain fall drastically in the next couple of hours or so.

The groundstaff reckon that once it stops raining, they would need a minimum of two hours to get the ground ready. We can extend play by two hours as well today. 16:38 is the latest cut off time to get in a 20-over game. We have a reserve day as well tomorrow in case we get to that situation. Very frustrating times these. The players' safety is an issue and we would keep that in mind while making any decision,"

10:55 Local Time, 15:25 IST: Something to cheer about after the gloomy wait. Here's Cricket Australia with the news: "The showers have stopped in Derby, expecting a ground inspection soon. Plenty of puddles in the outfield." The lesser said about the drainage here, the better. Plenty of time on our hands though to squeeze some sort of a game in. For all those pessimistic souls out there, in case the game is washed out tomorrow as well, Australia will go through to the finals.
