IBM will soon launch MaaS360, a mobile security as a service via the IBM Cloud in India. IBM aims to help enterprises address local data protection standards for mobile business with this new service. The IBM MaaS360 helps enterprises simplify mobile device management by providing the tools needed to monitor and manage these devices. IBM will also offer data privacy consulting services as well as mobile strategy, design and deployment consultants as enterprises look to scale their mobile strategies globally.

“With more than five million devices under management for over 10,000 clients, MaaS360 has proven its ability to scale for clients of all sizes,” said Jim Brennan, Director of Strategy and Offering Management, Endpoint Management and Security, IBM Security, in a statement. Through a new integration with IBM Cloud Security Enforcer, enterprises can monitor the use of non-approved corporate apps across mobile devices, the company said. IBM MaaS360 is currently operating in North America, Germany and Singapore. IBM will also add the service in France and eight other countries over the next two years, the statement added. IBM had recently launched a series of new servers designed to help propel cognitive workloads and to drive greater data centre efficiency.

Featuring a new chip, the Linux-based lineup incorporates innovations from the “OpenPOWER” community that deliver higher levels of performance and greater computing efficiency than available on any x86-based server. Developed with some of the world’s leading technology companies, the new Power Systems are designed to propel artificial intelligence, deep learning, high performance data analytics and other compute-heavy workloads, which can help businesses and cloud service providers save money on data center costs.
