DSK Hyosung has launched its limited edition GT250 R LE bike in the Indian auto market on 13th December 2013. The price of this special edition bike is Rs. 2.97 lakh (Ex-showroom Pune). This new motorcycle comes with a catchy hurricane yellow paint job and flaunts branded merchandise, special decals and embossed signature. The new bike will continue to have same mechanicals, which simply means that owners will get a twin-cylinder engine and a 6-speed transmission. This engine possesses an ability to produce a peak power of 25 bhp alongside the 22 Nm of torque.

Interestingly, the limited edition GT250R marks first anniversary celebration of Hyosung owners club, Hy-Ryders. Notably, Hyosung is also looking forward to unveil two new motorcycles in the country in 2014. The first one is GD250N while the other is Aquila 250 cruiser. According to reports, these two bikes are likely to be showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. Furthermore, Hyosung also plans to starts its own manufacturing facility in India by 2015-2016, sources have claimed.

Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman, DSK Motowheels, in an interview, said, “Driven by popular demand from our discerning customers, we decided to introduce this signature edition of the GT250R. What better way to introduce this faired beast than the 1st anniversary of our exclusive superbike club, the Hy-Ryders. We are overwhelmed by the support shown by the owners club, and are committed to delivering maximum value and excitement for them in the years to come.”

Reportedly, Hyosung would be only manufacturing 50 units of the signature edition, GT250 R Limited Edition bike. The company has given several new additions in the bike which includes exterior personalisation like graphics. The 250 cc bike boasts of a heavy duty fully faired muscular body for an impressive stance. This motorcycle is biggest in the 250 cc category and as such, is also known as 'The Big Boy'. Some features of this bike are twin projector headlamps, double disk front brakes, upside down forks, EFI and the adjustable rear sets. An interesting fact about this bike is that it is the only 250cc bike in the Indian market that comes with Super Sports riding position.

As far as new model launches are concerned, there is high possibility that a similar bike bearing a high-specification engine might make way in India. Apart from this, a new 250 cc model is also on the cards in India but the expected launch date of the same has not been confirmed as of now. At present, the main thrust in sales for Hyosung is coming from the 250 cc segment in which the company has sold over 1250 units.
