HTC today launched the Desire 830 smartphone in Taiwan. As the name implies, the Desire 830 is successor to the Desire 820, which had launched two years ago. The Desire 830 is priced at NT $9,990 (Rs 20,500 approximately), and will go on sale in the country from May 6. The specifications, features and the overall design are in line with details that had leaked recently.

The overall design is not very different from what we have seen on HTC’s current Desire line up of smartphones. You get the dual-tone color palette with a white body supplemented with bright red of blue colored frames.

HTC Desire 830 specifications, features:

The smartphone flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek Helio X10 SoC (MT6753) 64-bit octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. It also offers 32GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.

On the photography front, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and support for Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Up front, there is a 4-Ultrapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
It also features BoomSound stereo speakers with support for Dolby Audio, 2,800mAh battery, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support among others. On the software front, it runs on Android Marshmallow wrapped under the Sense UI.

There is currently no word on HTC’s plans to launch the smartphone in markets other than Taiwan. If it does launch in India though, a price tag of around Rs 20,000 means the Desire 830 will face competition from the likes of the Lenovo Vibe X3, and the Motorola Moto X Play to name a few.
