I am not sure if all of you face the same with the mobile operators.
Recently i see a change the way the mobile operators loot money from customers. I used to do a recharge for Rs69 so i get all the local calls for 30p, but now i see the first call is charged at the rate of 75p and there onwards its 30p so its a another loot of 15Rs per month. The same applies to SMS pack.Rs 36 pack( with some sms free) with 28 days validity the first SMS is charged @50P which is again a loot of Rs15. You may all recall previously all of the STV were valid for 30days now its all valid only for 28 days which is again a loot of 2 days. On the whole im forced to pay Rs30 per month extra than what i was paying earlier. Im talking this WRT chennai airtel not sure if the same is with other regions. I have highlighted only few pack which i have been using not sure of if this is the same with other packs which i have not used. I saw the docomo rates which is really tricky and confusing where its 2p/3secs and 1.6p/sec, i really dont know how to check if the mobile operator is charging me correctly or not without a calculator

Now coming to data plans:
Data plans in india are the most expensive in the world i feel. You cannot use any data on your phone without a datapack. 10p/10Kb which is the most expensive dataplan someone can buy in this world which works to Rs10000 for 1GB !!!! The same works to Rs126 for 28 days with STV which is compartively cheaper but still i feel its on the higher side.Data plan is a doubel edge sword for the mobile operators.
They will not reduce the data plan rates as the telecom giants know many in cities are slowly moving to smart phones where they use whatsup for sms and viber for calls. if the data plan rates are slashed terrribly they will loose revenue on the calls and sms.

Your thoughts here please.

I think only AVoId (airtel/voda/idea) doing this. Plz use the telecom firm which has low customer base.

Eg, we are using Vodafone North East/ Assam.

Calls as low as 1.3p/sec (PV6, validity 180 Days)

You may use AIRCEL/ DoCoMo etc which offers cheap tariff.

We are consumers. Cant fight with greedy looting firms. So move away. MNP is there as last step to say bye bye your looting network.

Happy calling!

Blame the corrupt Govt which has done 2G Scam.

My call rate was 2p/3sec. Now its 1.5p/sec (airtel), 1.4p/sec (idea) and 1.3p/s (voda).

Another trick to change the benefits of the top-up very frequently. First month you get very good benefits. And as usual we recharge next month with same amount expecting same benefits but now more conditions apply - first 1 or 2 minutes at double/triple price.

Always have to check benefits before recharging!!!

i was previously using airtel postpaid and the bills were running high which i have no clue of and migrated to prepaid.

Here aircel are the leaders, docomo and idea we dont get signal everywhere so i have to stick either to airtel, vodafone or aircel and all of them are looters

Airtel leads everywhere...
Finally it all depends on Govt/Trai to control this pillage...
u can use good nw for incoming & cheap nw for outgoing to get max benefit.

You all are right and very much loot is there now vodafone giving only 500MB data for Rs.125, first it was giving 1.25GB for Rs.125
