Just to understand, the BCCI controls the lives of all the cricketers who are contracted with them? Meaning the cricketers have to be accountable for all non-cricketing activity too at all times?

Not new . Same goes with all private employees . If you do some indecent act , you may get fired .
This has to be done . They are not comman people . . Ranting sh!t about women on national television is not justified at all.
