Google’s Android 7 OS will be called Android Nougat as we learnt last week, and now Taiwanese smartphone-maker HTC has confirmed three of its top phones will be getting the N update.

HTC 10, HTC One A9, HTC One M9 are on the list. HTC tweeted out confirming the Android Nougat update for these phones. Check out the tweet.

So sweet. Android Nougat—the next version of Google’s Android—will be coming to the HTC 10, HTC One A9 & HTC One M9. pic.twitter.com/cB5S2zv0PW

HTC is one of the first smartphone makers to confirm the Android N update for its phone, which is interesting given that rumours claim HTC will also be making the next Nexus device.

Google recently rolled out the Android N 4 Developer Preview in the form of build number NPD56N for Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Pixel C, Nexus Player, General Mobile 4G (Android One) and Sony Xperia Z3. The update was rolled out via an over-the-air update.

At the annual I/O Developer conference, Google had announced beta release 3 of Android N, which offered improved performance, security and productivity. Google also added support for new Vulcan API to improve graphics performance.

Android N will also see changes to Multi-tasking, Notifications, Split-screen, and will bring support for Google’s DayDream VR platform.

Google is bringing split-screen multitasking feature and picture-in-picture mode to Android TV. With the new feature, Android N users can keep the video player in the corner while doing something else on their phone or tablet. Notifications in Android N will include quick reply option from the tab itself.

DayDream VR is perhaps the biggest new addition to Android N, where developers can enable new VR-centric apps. Google is working with Samsung, Huawei, HTC, LG and Xiaomi to deliver VR ready smartphones later this year.
