Ever since Airtel discontinued the Rs.99 pack, I have been continuously recharging with Rs.155 & it has always been 28 days validity for me, along with 1 GB data for the whole 28 days (My circle is Tamil Nadu).

Also, Airtel gives Rs.10 as cashback for this pack if we use Airtel Wallet for payment (via Airtel Thanks app). The cashback for Rs.179 pack is Rs.20.

but its not free ... 50% off

No. You will get 1 year free Airtel XStream Play Premium OTT subscription with this pack.

Actually u are getting "50% off" on subscription as part of a separate offer which is currently available for all airtel subscribers and it is called "Steal The Deal" or "Grab The Loot" wherein each customer gets some discount or free access to XStream Play OTT subscription.

Also apart from this there r XStream Mobile Pack subscription also provided with certain plans which provides Free access to any one of the Channels/OTT apps available on Airtel XStream Play Platform

If ur mobile number is linked to multiple airtel accounts (DTH ,Broadband, Mobile) then Airtel Thanks benefits available for all these will be listed separately under "Claim OTT Benefits " section on Airtel App. Press "i" tab placed on top left corner of offer banner to know for which airtel account u have received this benefit

That time Airtel was AirTel
Even now Airtel is Airtel only. Be ready for tariff hikes by the end of the year. 179 will become 210 or something like that.

84 days 2GB/day will touch 999 really soon in prepaid segment. Hopefully this is good news for Airtel postpaid and Jio postpaid plans.
