Now that Airtel has increased tariffs, I'm thinking of porting the secondary number to Jio. Need it only for incoming calls and SMS. Would it be a good idea to buy a cheap JioPhone? Approximately how much would I need to spend initially?

Yes .. plan price plus 99 .. last month I bought jio phone in jio Store there I enquired

No I got new jio sim for only 149 Rupees plan I didn't pay any extra charges (99)

I think Jio won't hike plans by much. Just like last time. There should be hike of around ₹50. Will see how 14 days plans are priced.

Not sure about ur case may be ur bought in any offer by retailer but officially one prime recharge necessary with plan recharge for new or port in sim

I'm not bought from retailer, I bought through official Jio Store
