He also mentioned about full screen ads on charger connect and disconnect, which I have never seen. And the notifications can anyway be turned off at OS level though the app level setting isn't available. But as I said, the UI is too old school on Jio!

Just found out that jiomusic was using a hack to display over other apps, even without the permission. Maybe I think this is because it targets sdk 22 (Android 5.1) which never had any permission control setting. But then Google will not allow any app updates to this app if it does not target sdk 26 (Android 8.0) from November 1, 2018

This appears when you disconnect a call (not always), and when you connect or disconnect your charger (not always) . Also sometime it appears when you plug in your headphones

Also Google for jiomusic charging ads. You will get not just charging, but other kind of ads too

@sparker0i I'm using it in iOS, so no such issue exists. And in Android too, I think those full screen ads are from My Jio app and not from Jio Music. Earlier, when I was on Android, I turned all permissions/notifications off at OS level for My Jio app and these ads disappeared. I'm not sure if this changed. I have an S7 edge at home which is on Oreo and no full screen ads display on it.

@sparker0i Bro, I haven't seen full screen ads in Jio music. Siva bro is right. Those ads might be from My Jio app or other Jio apps.

Yes, regarding the ads not coming anymore, it is because of an Android security patch, definitely after April because the issue was persistent till then

@sparker0i bro, the ads about which you are talking are not from Jio music, they are from my Jio app. It comes when your plan is going to end or if it's over. It's just a recharge reminder. See your screenshot it's clearly written that "Get your digital Life back". You will mostly get it when you connect/disconnect a call. Moreover it automatically goes within few seconds.
Jio music doesn't show any ad at all.

I'm quite sure it's Jiomusic because I don't use myjio app



Yes, also when charger connect/disconnect , headphone connect/disconnect, but from the Jiomusic app as when that screen comes I press recents, so that sh*t stays in my recent app list, and when I hold down on that icon, the title of the app card changes to Jiomusic and showing its logo



Bro don't go by the play store description. There are ways to show ads even after bypassing the description in the store listing. I'm an Android app developer and I know that

They still show such full screen ads, though they don't occur everytime.

I still have JioMusic on iOS and as I stated before, I never get full screen ads on iOS. I didn't check recently on Android! This is pathetic from Jio!

Yes, they still show full screen ads. I've seen full screen ads due to My Jio app on my dad's phone. That's the reason I haven't installed any Jio apps on my phone.
