New Delhi, May 12: Farmers protest, at Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh, is spinning out of control and Opposition parties are trying to cash in on the issue as much as possible, more of politics and less of farmers prayer. During the protest, Gautam Budh Nagar District Magistrate was shot in leg and sustained injuries. Two jawans and two farmers have also lost their lives so far.

Congress youth icon Rahul Gandhi was arrested and later released on Wednesday late night after the high profile political drama. Now the situation has became worst and Congress, which staging a protest in UP, has held Mayawati's government responsible for all the outrages.

In midst of needy farmers, there were also the anti-elements who initiated the violence and pressed deployed police personnel to start firing, creating a criminalization touch to the protest.

Opposition parties, mainly Congress, made its way into the stir to grab the majority of focus in the long run. It has snubbed few crucial points and is protesting against Mayawati to trash her public image with its full strength.

The questions that strike are - citing the UP assembly elections ahead (2012) in less than a year, is Congress sneaking it's way to use the unrest wisely (vote-bank politics) or is it trying to bag supporters those who can lead Congress front in upcoming elections?

Another point which raises question on Congress' politics is its silence over farmers unrest in Srikakulam District, Andhra Pradesh. Farmers were fired on, but there were no talks about it because Congress being the ruling party in the state.

After all, it is votes that count.
